Are You……….
Out of
work?
Facing possible foreclosure?
Facing loss of medical insurance?
Having trouble making ends meet?
YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
In an effort to help fellow parishioners in
times of economic hardship, the Catholic Community of Jeffersonville has
begun a new ministry to assist those people in our
community that have lost their job. Our community is
starting a support group to help you in these
difficult times. In addition to the support group we
have added a job
board to allow employers to have their companies job openings listed and
to allow those seeking a job to list the type of job
they need and their qualifications. Also you will
find a page of resources to help you, the job-seeker
in finding a new job or career.
Net-Working Support Group,
Net-Working is open to everyone who is - or expects
to be - out of work, changing careers or entering or
re-entering the job market. In addition to losing
your job, some of you may be facing foreclosure, no
longer have health insurance or an empty pantry.
This group is here to help you find the resources
for those issues as well. Net-Working is sponsored
by the Catholic Community of Jeffersonville as a
public service.
The support that
members give one another is of great value.
Listening carefully to one another, participants ask
questions that are both sensitive and insightful.
Members rediscover their own value through helping
others achieve their goals.
Being out of work can be very lonesome. You no
longer have a boss, colleagues and possibly
subordinates to help you function. It is
encouraging, therefore, to work together with other
people to help guide you during the process of
getting a job, changing careers, and other needs
that occur as a result of job loss.
Net-Working also encourages spouses and partners to
attend meetings so they can help the job seekers
cope with the stresses. This provides the
opportunity for the other persons to understand the
job-seeking process and thereby can be a positive
force in the situation. By being involved, they
become both more effective in helping (or not
helping) and learn what it is like to be out of
work.
Employers - If your
company would like to present to our group, please
let us know via the contact
form.
Volunteers - Would
you like to help? If you would like to be a
volunteer in this important ministry, please contact
us via the contact form.
If you would like to meet with other
Catholic
Community members who have lost their jobs, please
let us know via the contact
form. We are interested in starting a
net-working group to help each other through this
tough time. All we need is your name,
email address and phone number and
state in the comments that you are interested in
joining.
Employers, please send us
a link to any open job opportunities you may have and we will post
them here. Parishioners are also encouraged to submit job openings
at their place of employment or they know of by word of mouth. We
will need a web link or employer contact to provide that opportunity
online.
Job-seekers, please supply
us with your name, email contact and job specialty and/or interest,
and we will provide that information here as well. Employers or
fellow parishioners may request a resume from you for job
consideration. It will be up to your discretion as to who you do and
do not provide information.
